When did you start your site?
I first got the domain for my 17th birthday. I had my first website (and idea for the domain) when I was 14.
Marital Status?
Very single. :)
Occupation - What kind of work do you do?
I'm a college student.
Hobbies - What do you like to do, besides keep this site?
sing, write, read, hang out with my family/friends, play with my pets
Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?
Why did you start writing your Web site?
Well, I originally started a site because my friends, Leslie and Jill, had sites and I thought it would be cool...so I whined to my dad, and he let me start one on aol's pages. Then, it moved to xoom. Now, it's on my own domain.
Why do you write a site about you?
Who better for me to talk about that the one and only me? :) I've had other kinds of stories before, but the ones about me have always been the easiest to do...since I know exactly what I'm talking about when I refer to myself.
Do you communicate with readers of your site?
When they communicate with me...when I used to get more feedback, yes.
How much email feedback do you receive from your site? Is it mainly positive or negative?
Not as much as I used to. Once, I got some really negative feedback and I got in an arguement with this one girl. It wasn't pretty. Eventually, though, we stopped fighting and found out that we were really similar.
Have you met any new friends because of the site?
Some other girls about my age who do sites.
Has your motivation changed over time?
How has it changed your life?
Well, it's given my dad another way to brag about me, so I guess it's strengthened our relationship.
Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
My dad goes to it, so I try not to badmouth him as much as I would if I knew he didn't go. I don't want any conflicts with my friends and family over it.
How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
It's just given me a way to express my inner creativity and learn new ways to show my thoughts and feelings...and it's given me an excuse to take a bunch of silly online tests (i.e. Who's your inner pop diva?).
If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
I'd have learned more HTML and JS up-front instead of waiting so long.
What are your favorite things on your site?
My 'bio' and The test scores
When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
Good layouts, easy to read, colors that don't clash, and few pop-ups
What is "one word" that would describe your site?
unappreciated
Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
I'm just a normal girl "doin' my thang". Heh.
How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I just try to sit back and do whatever I can to express myself the way I want to.
Why do you think people are interested in you and what you have to say?
You know, I really don't know why.
What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why write a Web site")?
I think it's called an addiction.
