Now you can add Google News to your Facebook profile. Keep up with the latest news from Google right from your Facebook page. Choose from different Google News topics or create your own news to add to your Facebook profile.
Send Google news stories to your friends from your Facebook profile and let them send Google news stories to you. Find news about your favorite sports, be informed about the latest headline news, see what's happening in the stock market and more.
- Go to the Google News Facebook application page and click on "Add Application".
- Choose your Google News application settings and click on "Add Google News".
- Decide which friends you want to send this application to. The more friends that add this application, the more friends you can share news with.
- Click "Send Google News Invitation". When the pop up box comes up, click on "Send".
- Choose the type of news you want to receive from the list. Or, create custom news topics to be sent to you by adding keywords in the box. If you want to add more than one custom news topic, click the link that says, "Add another topic" and add your keyword in the new box.
- When you're finished choosing topics to be sent to your Google News reader, click "Submit".
- You'll now be able to read or share news stories right from your Facebook page.
Using Google News on Facebook
- Getting Into Google News - To get into Google News on your Facebook site, click on "more" in your Applications menu on the left side of the page. Then click on "Google News".
- Reading Google News - Click on the tab at the top of the page that says "Top stories". This is where you can read your Google News stories.
- Add More News Topics - Add more custom news topics to your Google News by typing in a keyword at the top of the page, then clicking "Add". To add more standard news sections to your Google News, click on the link that says, " Standard sections". Choose a news topic from the drop down box and click "Add".
- See Stories Friends Sent - If you want to read news stories that your friends have sent to you, click on the "Stories from friends" tab at the top of the page. From here you can read stories that friends have sent to you or stories that friends have posted to their Facebook profile.
- See Stories You Sent - To see which stories you've sent to which friends, click on the "My stories" tab at the top of the page.
- Share Stories - Click on the little "Share" link at the top of every story intro on your Google News page. Make sure you're in the "Send This Story" tab. Type in who you want to send the story to in the "To" box. Then type in a comment letting your friend know why you're sending this story to them. Click "Send".
- Post Stories - Click on the little "Share" link at the top of every story intro on your Google News page. Click on the "Share on Profile" tab. Type in a comment letting your friends know what you think about the story you're posting on your Facebook profile, and why you thought it was good enough to post. Click "Send".
