Why did you start writing your Web site?
What is your site about?
Mountain climbing and rock climbing in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and the southwestern United States.
Why do you write a site about mountain climbing?
After taking care of the necessities of life people may think about expressing their ego. This is a good thing if it is done in a positive direction.
Have you met any new friends because of the site?
The most wonderful person I met is Smerelda http://home.att.net/~smerelda/. She turned my humble tripod templates into a world class website.(IMHO)
How has it changed your life?
I train a lot harder and my mountaineering is a lot more focused on getting material good enough to put on the website. http://www.geocities.com/kararkarar/griffith.htm
What are your favorite things on your site?
The first seven links cover the most difficult climbs I've done.
How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
Right now I'm getting by with FrontPage2000. I don't need anything too fancy. Just some photos and text.
Why do you think people are interested in your interest or hobby and what you have to say about it?
Climbers want to know as much as possible about a climb before they attempt the route themselves.
What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why write a Web site")?
God gave us two great playgrounds. Oceans and mountains. I've loved them both.
