Sept 17th

Occupation - What kind of work do you do?
Student of Philosophy

Hobbies - What do you like to do, besides keep this site?
Reading, watching Star Trek, employing my computer(s), discussing with friends

Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?
Germany

Why did you start writing your Web site?

It was the need to do something and to cope with the horrible things I saw on TV on Sept 11th.

What is your site about?
It's about the terror attacks on World Trade Center and Pentagon of Sept. 11, about what happened and the reactions.

Do you communicate with readers of your site?
Yes, I appreciate to do so and it's one of the main goals of the page.

How much email feedback to you receive from your site? Is it mainly positive or negative?
I got about a hundred very positive responses till now and am very glad about that :-).

Few negative were coming in, too (virus attachments, adresser masked - but that's not unusal) which I deleted.

Have you met any new friends because of the site?
Yes, and I'm trying to keep in contact.

Has your motivation changed over time?
Yes, it's still growing the more my researches seem to be fruitful.

How has it changed your life?
I spent very much time on it, maybe too much. It occupied me in my vacation but also helped me a lot to get through, not to abandon hope through communicating with others.

Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
No, they fully agree with what I'm doing.

How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
I got in contact with many interesting people I would have never met without that page.

If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
Nothing :-). (ok, perhaps setting up a guestbook earlier)

What are your favorite things on your site?
At the moment it's the site regarding theology: http://www.wtc-trauer.de/theolog_en.htm

I had to search long and am still searching for articles, it's rather hard to find something helpful for this page.

When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
I'm searching for statements and comments of the person who made it, the author should share his thoughts in a non-business like way.

What is "one word" that would describe your site?

Hope

Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
Questioner

How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I wrote every single tag by myself... if I'm frustrated, you won't see it in the visible text, but I leave the code as it is though I know it's wrong.

Why do you think people are interested in your interest or hobby and what you have to say about it?
People are interested *now* in it. In about one year I hope all that is kind of history. And the page will remain as a memorial, because we must not forget all this.

What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why write a Web site")?
I don't know if that's really a *beautiful page* :-). It's the idea to help others, to inform, to spread things I consider would be good or helpful to know. And it's - at least I hope so - God.
