Put The Frame Together

By Linda Roeder, About.com

Main Page

The first page you should create is your main page. This is just a plain Web page that has all your content on it. If you need help creating a basic Web page try my Basic HTML tutorial.

Frame

You only need one frame to create a framed page. This tutorial is going to have three. This is so those of you that want to figure out how to have more than one will have a reference point to start with.

The frame or frames that you create are just basic, very short, Web pages. You will probably want to include links, site title or general information on these frames.

Example Pages

For purposes of this tutorial I have created a main page and three frames. Here are links to these four pages so you can see what they look like before I add them to the frame page.

Now that you have seen the pages that will be added to the frame page here is what the frame page will look like when it is finished:

Completed Frame Page

The frame page is the only page in this lesson that will have the special frame tags needed to create a frame.
