Why did you start writing your Web site?
To reach out to other families facing crises with their children.
Why do you post pictures of your children on your site?
So that people can see how far they have come with all they've been through. I also want people to be able to put faces to our names.
Do you and/or others in your family communicate with readers of your site?
yes
How much email feedback do you recieve from your site? Is it mainly positive or negative?
I have received a handful of positive feedback on my site.
Have you met any new friends because of the site?
yes
Has your motivation changed over time?
no
Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
yes my family has read it and they are not at all negative. They are very supportive of my reason behind doing this site.
How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
My hope is that they will look beyond the circumstances they face and see HOPE. It has reminded me of how far we've come when I feel we have so far to go.
If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
Maybe just some of the graphics.
What are your favorite things on your site?
I love my entire website.
What do you look for in an personal Web site, as a viewer?
I look for stories of people who have faced difficulties in life and who have gotten through them. And they are now using them as a testimony to reach out to others.
What is "one word" that would describe your site?
HOPE
Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
no
How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I take some time away from designing it. Maybe a few hours, maybe a few days. Depending on how frustrated I get.
Why do you think people are interested in your family, what they do, and/or what they have to say?
because we have gone through what most people have never gone through and the key words are "gone through". We have not bowed down to the circumstances.
What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why do you write a Web site?")
The HOPE that I may give to people who are facing sickness with those they love.
