Keep Facebook Photos Out of Ads

By , About.com Guide

Facebook is now allowing third party advertisers to use your photos without your permission. There is something you can do about it. There are privacy settings set up in Facebook to keep your photos safe from these third party advertisers.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 2 minutes
Here's How:
  1. Go to your Facebook.
  2. Go to "Settings" in the upper right corner and click on "Privacy".
  3. Select "News Feed and Wall".
  4. At the top of the next page you'll see two tabs. The tab you're on reads "Actions within Facebook. Click on the other tab that reads "Facebook Ads".
  5. This page allows you to "opt out of appearing in your friends' Facebook Ads below." You can do so by choosing "No one" from the drop down box. If you choose "Only my friends", your photos will continue to show on ads on your friends Facebook pages.
  6. Click "Save Changes".
