The Student Center Casino slowly arose out game called "Pick Em Quick." This original game, designed with Macromedia Flash, was created to give Student Center users something fun and interactive to do online. Soon, these users would have many different casino-type games to choose from. Each game, designed for teens and by teens, was created using Macromedia's Flash. The powerful visual and audio effects that Flash creates was the perfect medium for creating such games. However, in order to keep track of each and every user, the team of teens at the Student Center had to venture into unknown programming territory. They had to find a way to have a flash movie communicate with a MySQL database. After weeks of testing each game, the Student Center Casino became a reality! The Student Center Casino has evolved from a single game into many different casino games, with a complex system of chips and points. Currently, the Student Center has many new ideas for the casino. Everyone is working hard to make everything look and function more efficiently. Future projects include Blackjack, a Horse Racing game, and other casino card games.
