Over the years many studies have shown that writing is good for your health and relieves stress. Particularly writing about ones self. That's where Web pages come in.
In this era of computers on the Internet what better place could there be to get the self therapy you need to succeed than on the Web. In some of my previous articles, such as Why Post A Page?: Diaries, Why Post A Page?: Individuals, and Why Post A Page?: Families I asked some people why they wrote their Web pages. A lot of them said something to the effect of "for therapy" or "to make me feel better". The Web pages that are especially good for making the author feel better seem to be the diaries.
In a recent article I came across from the BBC News out of the United Kingdom called "Writing tonic for chronic complaints" the writer claims that writing about stressful events and emotions in your life can make diseases such as asthma and arthritis less debilitating. This article also claims that you can boost your immune system this way.
Most people know that stress can cause you to become ill so you should do what you can to try to get rid of it before it becomes a problem. Clinique (pdf document, HTML version) magazine has a list of the 25 best ways to reduce stress and Good Housekeeping has a list of 7 ways to beat stress and writing is on both of them. There are even personal sites that deals with stress relief.

Now all you have to do is get out there and write a Web page. Put on it all the stresses in your life and maybe you'll even get some feedback from the people who see your site, if that's what you want. Don't forget though that this is not a replacement for a doctor's help. If you have a serious disease or a lot of stress and anxiety you should always seek professional help.
