There are many things you can use FrontPage for as you saw in "Basics of Front Page". Now you know the basics such as how to add a heading, change the font, add links, spell check and save your work. Are you ready for some more? Here are some other things you can do to your pages to make them look great.
Counters
A counter will help you and your readers know how popular your page is. This is a great way to keep track of how many people are visiting you and when.To add one to your page you should position your cursor where you want the counter to be and then find the button that looks like a sheet of paper with a gear on it, it says "Insert Component" when you place your mouse over it. When you click on this button you will get a pull down menu. Click on where it says "Hit Counter". Then you will get 5 pictures of counters to choose from and the option to use your own picture. {See what it looks like} You will also be able to set what number your counter starts at and how many digits it has. After you have entered all your options click on "OK". Now you will see this on your page: {Hit Counter} . This will hold the spot for your counter until you upload your page to the Net.
Marquee
Here's something fun to do on your page that will definitely catch your reader's attention. It's a marquee. A marquee is a bunch of words that you choose that move across your page.
To add one to your page you must again click on that button with the gear on it. Then click on the button that says "Marquee". When you do this the box that pops up will have lots of options for you. {See what it looks like} First, of course, you must write in the text that you want to have scroll. Then you can tell it which direction to go, how fast, whether it should slide or scroll and how it should be aligned. You can then choose the height and width, how many times you want it to repeat and also choose a background color if you wish. When you are finished click "OK" and you will see your text scrolling across your page.
