Age - How old are you?
I am 42

When did you start your site?
The first one was in August 1998. This particular site was in March 1999.

Marital Status?
single

Hobbies - What do you like to do, besides keep this site?
Photography, baking, reading, music, graphics.

Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?
Toronto, Ontario Canada... and still there...

Why do you write your site?
It is the things I like and think others like similiar things. I have tried to make it a kinder/gentler piece of the internet.

Do you communicate with readers of your site?
Yes I do.

How much email feedback to you receive from your site?: Is it mainly positive or negative?
I don't get too much email, most leave messages on my guestbook. Either way, they are all responded to. Mainly positive and quite endearing at times. I'm really surprised at what some have to say. How viewing the site had made their day.

Have you met any new friends because of the site?
Yes, many.

Has your motivation changed over time?
A bit maybe, I still do the things I like but I also now do graphics that others can enjoy and use as well as desktops.

How has it changed your life?
I have learned a lot. It has also brought me many new friends and enabled me to visit many other fine websites through my guestbook.

Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
Yes... and no negative results.

How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
It really has enriched my life through meeting others with similiar likes and dislikes. I've made many new friends, good friends through it. I receive wonderful emails and messages from complete strangers about my site and how much they enjoyed it and how it made them feel.

If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
I honestly don't think I'd change anything.

What are your favorite things on your site?
My poetry and the things on my site that can be sent through email or icq to others as well as my webrings.

When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
Easy to read, relatively fast loading, love to see pics, and easy to navigate.

What is "one word" that would describe your site?
Gentle

Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
Just someone out there with a website that wants to share nice things with others. Maybe a bit of a writer because some of my own poetry is on the site.

How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I tend to look at others sites, see what they have done. And when I'm frustrated, I just keep plugging away. When it finally works it is a great sensation.

Why do you think people are interested in you and what you have to say?
I don't know if they are so much interested in me but I think they like the site because it is a pleasant site to go through. I call it my "kinder/gentler" site.

What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why an online journal")?
I do it to please myself and more so, other people. To give them something to sit back and relax to. Nothing that glares at them, or shocks them, or flashes at them. And a place where they can go to find special things for friends/loved ones to send to them to make their day.
