Esthersue's Heartlight Site

About.com Rating five out of Five

By Linda Roeder, About.com

Age - How old are you now?
I am presently 48 years young.

When did you start your site?
I started my second homepage around the middle of November, 1999

Marital Status?
In February, 2001 I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversy! (Wow! I can't believe he's put up with me that long!)

Occupation - What kind of work do you do?

I am a "homebody" at present, having recently quit a job I had for over two years (Thank God I'm free from it)

Hobbies - What do you like to do, besides keep this site?
I love recycle crafts, writing Christian poetry, reading books by Christian authors, Christian music like Glad, Petra, Phil Keaggy; sharing and fellowship with "kindred spirits".

Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?
Originally from Georgia, I now reside in western Maryland. I am a short distance from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia and love the beautiful rolling hills and rivers and small-town community spirit.

Why did you start writing your Web site?
I started my site for several reasons: a place to "sing my heartsong"; to witness, share and fellowship with others; to have fun and be creative.

Why do you write a site about you?
My site (I hope) reflects the "me" that Christ is creating and perfecting. The good in me is authored by Him. The bad in me I take full credit for! Hope you never see THAT side!

Have you met any new friends because of the site?

Since this site was created, I have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful people and enjoyed the opportunity to share in their "missions" and interests as well.

How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
I have been blessed with the knowledge that my website has helped to encourage and lift people up. I feel that if I helped even one person, that the work I put into is all worthwhile.

What are your favorite things on your site?
My favorite pages are:

When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
I personally love to check out other's homepages. What I am impressed with are good-hearted causes, inspirational writing, and make-yourself-at-home atmosphere.

What is "one word" that would describe your site?

My one-word description of my site is of course "Christian".

Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
I consider myself an amateur Christian Poet/writer but have aspirations of writing my own journal/devotional some day.

How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I use Broderbund's (now Mattel Interactive) ClickArt Web Site Workshop 1.0 program, which anyone can use. No HTML knowledge needed (and mine is very limited!) I use Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0 to enhance and edit my graphics and also use Scan Suite scanner programs like Picture Mall and Frame It.

Why do you think people are interested in you and what you have to say?
I trust the Lord to lead people to my site that may benefit from what I offer, or lead me to their site and be inspired by them!
