If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
Maybe I'd be more organized. I learned by "just doing it," picking up random tips and tricks here and there online. After about a year, my site was kind of a big chaotic mess and a lot of it had to be revamped. But then again, that's part of the fun of it. So my advice to anyone who is thinking of building their own webpage: pick a subject that your obsessively in love with and don't be afraid to make mistakes. IOW, have fun!
What are your favorite things on your site?
Monday's photo albums, the Circle of Healing Purrs, our new picture page on the Peace Plantation Animal Sanctuary and the tribute to CATS the musical that has since grown into a site of it's own.
What do you look for in an pet Web site, as a viewer?
a unique point of view
What is "one word" that would describe your site?
ailurophilic :-)
How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
I set up my first webpage before there was a "Front Page" so I pretty much had to learn to write html. I'm not a webpage code wizard but I got so used to writing raw code that I still do, with a little help from WebEdit,a very basic shareware html editor. A purring cat does wonders for frustration :-)
Why do you think people are interested in your pets and what they do?
I helps to have a very photogenic cat!
