Some Jewish people on the Net create wonderful Web pages to celebrate their Jewish holidays or their Jewish faith. When I read one of these Jewish Web sites there are some things I look for as a reader. There are also many things that these Jewish Web sites all have in common. When creating a Web site about Jewish holidays or the Jewish faith there are some things you will need and some other things you should consider having on your Jewish Web site.
Whether you are celebrating Passover, Purim or another Jewish holiday there are some things you need to have. How about Jewish clip art to decorate your Passover or Purim Web site. A calender of Jewish holidays, something about what Passover, Purim and the other Jewish holidays are about and how to celebrate Passover, Purim and the other Jewish holidays would be a good start too. Get Started Creating a Web Site
Hosting - Hosting is where you put your Web site. You need to sign up with a hosting service and put your Web pages online on their server. Choose the hosting service that is right for you and start building your Web site.
Basic Web Design Tips - When designing and writing your Web site there are some things you need to know. Color, layout, graphics are all things that need to be done right to make your Web site look good.
Web Editors - Editors are programs that help you create a Web site. An online editor is offered by most hosting services these days but if you prefer to create your Web pages offline and then add them to your site later one of these might be what you need.
Things To Consider for a Jewish Web Site
- List of Jewish holidays, including dates. This may need to change from year to year or you could do several lists for several years and then you would only have to update it every few years.
- Explanations of Jewish holidays. People outside of the Jewish religion often don't know what the Jewish holidays stand for. Telling about what you do on the holidays and what you are celebrating will help a lot.
- A history. A history of the Jewish people but also a history of the holidays that the Jewish people celebrate. Why do Jewish people celebrate Purim? Passover?
- Jewish traditions. What kinds of things do Jewish people do that are different from what Christians do or Muslims? Why do Jewish people have Kosher foods and why do Jewish children play the Dreidel game?
- How can someone become Jewish? If someone who is of another religion wanted to become Jewish what would they need to do?
- What is Jewish? When you go about your daily life what do you do that makes you Jewish? What does being Jewish mean to you?
- Jewish recipes. Nothing catches people's attention more than food. If you have some Jewish recipes you can add to your Web site, please add them.
