Personal Pages

If you ever wondered why someone would write their diary online then I answered that for you too. I asked several diarists and told you what they had to say.

Then I showed you some sites that were created for people's pets. Cats, dogs, birds, snakes, mice, pigs, fish and other animals you may not have thought of as pets where all included.

Each of the most popular presidential candidates was featured for you about three weeks before the eternal election. They all have Web pages that were created about them.

I wanted to do a feature on television shows but couldn't decide which ones to do. There are so many different ones. I thought about it for a while and decided that the most popular shows on television are not the prime time line up but by far the soap operas. So that's what I decided to do. I didn't realize when I started that there were so many so I limited it to only daytime dramas and that still came out to ten different shows.

During the year there are many holidays so I thought these would make great features. I covered 11 holidays and one season. There was Valentine's Day, Spring, Mother's Day, U.S. Independence Day (4th of July) and Halloween. For the end of the year holiday season I also did Advent, Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa and included a page of online Advent calendars just for fun.

The Year To Come

There is now an editorial calendar on this site. Every few months it is updated to tell you what is planned for the months ahead. What you see on this calendar is tentative and therefore things may change without notice. If an idea comes to me, either through email or another way, I may have need to change the calendar or rearrange it as need be.

I do plan on doing more holidays in the future. Ones that I have not yet done. For instance, I will be doing a feature on Martin Luther King Day and the celebrations of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I realize that these are purely American holidays but I feel they need to be done. I will also be featuring the Jewish holidays of Purim and Passover as it has come to my attention that they have been overlooked. I am hoping to find more information on Bastille Day this year so I can do a feature on that too. If you have any ideas for holiday features please let me know.

Of course I will still be helping you to create your personal Web pages starting with a review of FrontPage 2000 and moving on to design tips and the use of symbols on your pages. If you have only created your pages using an online creation tool and have never used HTML but want to then I will be showing you how to turn your pages into full fledged HTML documents. I want to do something to help the teens among you. If any of you know of sites especially for teen Web designers please send them my way.

I think we've had a pretty good year and intend to have an even better year for you next year. With your help we can make this site everything you need to get started.
