Has your diary ever gotten you in trouble? If so, how? Scenerio: If you were wronged by a person that you know reads your diary, would you bash them anyway? What about family? What about co-workers?
No. I firmly believe in a subtlety policy: I won't name anybody who wrongs me, whether or not they read "fredo today," unless they *really* piss me off. I will, though, make an indirect example of them if I see fit.
If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what
would you change?
Probably not include the more minute, unimportant details of my life.
Do you have any favorite entries?
I have two favorites: 1. one I wrote when I was on a weekend vacation in Provincetown and everything that could go wrong did (lost my check card, rain the entire weekend, etc.); and 2. the entry where Mike and I go to the supermarket after having several cocktails on a Sunday night and we have a run-in with some tired looking old man in these hideous yellow pajama bottoms.
What do you look for in an online journal, as a reader?
Entries that show the writer has put some thought into what he/she has to say, especially for opinion pieces. Good storytelling. A *basic* understanding of good web design, because presentation is everything. (If you can't read it, what's the point?) Regular updates that will want to make me return for more.
Do you use your real name in your diary?
Yep. I have no reason not to.
Do you censor yourself in your diary?
That depends on the subject or situation and how I feel about it or how it affects me. It's really just a matter of personal taste and appropriateness.
Do you ever use fiction techniques such as imaginary dialogue?
Oh, absolutely! Anything for a laugh.
