Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?

I am from New York and have lived in Southern California (West Hollywood) for 20 years.

Why did you start writing your diary online?
I have always written journals and I began doing a personal website to teach myself HTML. I decided to 'put myself out there' with a positive message to others (as well as for myself.)

Do you communicate with readers of your diary?
I welcome comments and communication and have made a few friends via my online entries. I have been encouraged to write a book that I will be finishing in December of 2000.

How much email feedback to you recieve from your diary? Is it mainly positive or negative?
On average of 4 to 5 messages a day. They are all positive. I have yet to receive a negative one. I welcome all opinions.

Have you met any new friends because of the diary?
Yes I have, it has been a wonderful connection to like minds.

Has your motivation changed over time?
It has not changed, it has, however, strengthened. The message is stronger as it continues to help ME grow.

How has the diary changed your life?

It has given me a drive to succeed and grow personally. It has helped my self-esteem and brought to light many of the positive aspects of who I am. As a result I have been writing a book on change.

Do your friends and family know you keep this journal/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
My website is very much open to all. The address has been given to all friends and family. I encourage their reading it.

How has the diary benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
It is a positive message. This is a very negative world at times. The concentration here is to focus on how we can create our own successes and eliminate the negative that is around and within us.

Has your diary ever gotten you in trouble? If so, how? Scenerio: If you were wronged by a person that you know reads your diary, would you bash them anyway? What about family? What about co-workers?
There have been no problems that I am aware of. It is not designed to create anything but positive feelings.

If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
Nothing. It is an experience and as such I continue to learn from it. I would never deny or change any learning experience.

Do you have any favorite entries?
I have a link within the website that hilights entries that I liked.

What do you look for in an online journal, as a reader?
inspiration and positive aspects. Experience and like minds.

Do you use your real name in your diary?
I am out there to the world in more ways than one.

Do you censor yourself in your diary?
There is NO censorship. NO editing.

Do you ever use fiction techniques such as imaginary dialogue?
I have done fantasy entries as if I were writing the journal in the future.

Do you ever significantly edit/rewrite past entries?
NO.

Would you describe your diary as traditional, essay, novel, rant, letter to someone, a theme journal, or something different?
It is traditional mixed with daily themes or trains of thought. I normally sit down with one thought and do a stream of consciousness entry.
