Whether you're creating a new Web site or moving an old one you should set up your folders before you start adding Web pages and other files. One way to do this is using FTP. This only works if your hosting service allows you to use FTP.

If you add folders before you start adding Web pages and other files then your Web site will be more orgainzed. This way you can create a folder for graphics, another for audio, one for family Web pages, another for hobby Web pages. Keeping your Web pages separate makes it easier for you to find them later when you need to update them or add to them.

Open your FTP program and put in your FTP information. You will need the username and password you use to login to your hosting service. You will also need the host name of your hosting service. You can get that from them.
