No One Can Find Your Web Site

By Linda Roeder, About.com

Problem #1:

No One Can Find Your Site - They're looking for a site just like yours. They go to the search engine and type in their keywords but your site is nowhere to be found.

Solutions:

1. Set up your title tags using a key phrase that uses keywords that describe your page.

2. Use a meta description that uses the same keywords that you used in your title tag and rephrases it a second time for maximum effect.

3. Use meta keywords that describe the page and are not vague. They should be words or phrases that people would use when looking for your page via search engine.

4. Make sure the first couple paragraphs of your page are keyword friendly.

5. Submit your site to search engines regularly. (Check each search engines rules to find out how often.)

6. Crosslink with other sites that are similar to yours. Try joining a webring.
