Reserves manager at a University library.

Read, write, arts and crafts, mountain biking, and genealogy.
Location - Where are you from? Where are you now?
Why did you start writing your Web site?
I first created my site simply to learn some basic HTML. In the process I discovered that I enjoyed the creative outlet that it allows me and have since completely revamped the site.
What is your site about?
Currently it is primarily about books and reading, roller coasters, and travel.
Why do you write a site about your interest or hobby?
It is a creative outlet for me and a great way to hear from people who have similar interests.
Do you communicate with readers of your site?
Yes.
How much email feedback to you receive from your site? Is it mainly positive or negative?
Not much yet since it is so new, everything I've received so far has been positive.
Have you met any new friends because of the site?
Yes.
Has your motivation changed over time?
Yes. Initially I created it simply to learn HTML, now I maintain it for my own and my family's enjoyment.
How has it changed your life?
Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
Yes, they read it and no, there have been no negative experiences at this time.
How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
My website has benefited me by giving me a creative outlet. It also benefits anyone who may want information on books to read or travel destinations.
If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
I would have used the current design to begin with and so would have been able to have more content by now rather than spending so much time on the design of it.
What are your favorite things on your site?
My travel and roller coaster descriptions.
When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
Interesting and entertaining writing and unusual subject matter.
What is "one word" that would describe your site?
Eclectic.
Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
Probably a writer more than anything.
How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
My web design is very basic. When I can't do what I envision I modify that vision to something attainable.
Why do you think people are interested in your interest or hobby and what you have to say about it?
There are a lot of readers out there looking for book reviews and I read a lot and love to share my opinions on books I have read. There are also many coaster lovers however, for them, there are much better sites than mine I admit.
What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why write a Web site")?
Because my site has become the place where I feel the most free to express myself. The web is the perfect place for those of us who have a lot to say but know we don't stand a chance of ever being published. It is also a great way to make your presence known in the world and connect with those who may share your passion
