5 Weeks To a Better Web Site - Free Online Course
Assignment 1

By Linda Roeder, About.com

What you need to do for this lesson is gather your pages and your thoughts. First you will need to decide where you are going to have your site hosted and set up your account with them.

Then you will need to choose a Web site editor and FTP client is needed. Then set up your site like I showed you and prepare to start writing.

If you have decided to use a text editor to write your site and you need to brush up on your HTML then you will need to sign up for the HTML 101 course mentioned earlier in this lesson.

In the next lesson we will be designing and setting up the main page for your diary. We will choose a title, a design (or format), learn to write a good description of your diary and we will decide which pages you should link to from the main page.

Post your diaries here! Let others see what you have done so far and get opinions and criticisms. Getting advice from others is the best way to create a great site.
