If you want to meet new friends I believe that Windows Live Spaces would be a great place to do it. Windows Live Spaces has an IM program you can use right from your Windows Live Spaces profile that lets you keep in touch with friends easily. Add a blog and photo album to your Windows Live Spaces profile page too. Also add music and video to your Windows Live Spaces profile hosted elsewhere if you want. With the privacy features offered on Windows Live Spaces you have a pretty good profile site.
Pros
- Music and Video: Okay, the music and video you put on your Windows Live Spaces profile are not hosted on your site, you have to link to them from another site, but you can add them.
- Blog: A pretty good blog at that. You can even add your other blogs on your Windows Live Spaces site as well.
- Photo Album: Slideshows too. Create photo albums on your Windows Live Spaces site and let other's see your photos.
- IM (Instant Messaging): MSN has had a good IM program for years. Now you can use that IM program right from your Windows Live Spaces profile page.
Cons
- No Forums Or Groups: No place to come together as a group and discuss things that are important to you on Windows Live Spaces.
- No Old Friends: There is no way to search for friends by school, work place or anything like that on Windows Live Spaces. Makes finding old friends pretty hard.
- No Music or Video Hosting: You can't imbed or host your music or videos on Windows Live Spaces. You can link to them however and you can even have them start as soon as your Windows Live Spaces profile page loads, but you can keep them here, you will have to host them elsewhere.
