Newblog, a New Way To Blog
Pros and Cons

By Linda Roeder, About.com

As far as social networking sites go Newblog is very basic. The photo album is limited and finding friends is not made easy. The blog on the other hand is fabulous. You can even break your blog entries into categories which is a unique characteristic among social networking sites. The design feature is also amazing in that it lets you use HTML and CSS in both the profile page and the blog. There are also templates you can use to create your site if you need them.

Pros

  • Advanced Design: Use HTML and CSS to create your profile page and blog.

  • Templates: There are templates available for you to use to change the way your profile and blog pages look.

  • Categories: Break your blog entries into categories.

Cons

  • Limited Photo Album: You can upload up to 20 photos to your Newblog photo album.

  • Meeting and Finding Friends: The search bar is just a plain search. There's no searching by school or anything like that. You can only search by name and location, unless you get lucky.

  • No Groups, Forums: There is no way to find friends with similar interests unless you read through their profiles.
