By , About.com Guide

This quick reference is a well organized version of the larger version of Creating Web Pages For Dummies. It includes all the valuable highlights of the full version but is condensed so you can find exactly what you are looking for quickly.

This book is for the person who wants to create a great Web page but doesn't have the time and/or desire to learn all the codes for HTML, or any of the other Web design languages. It is not recommended for the beginner though since it is a reference. The beginner should get the full version so they can get all the tips and tricks included therein.

While you are designing your Web site you should have a copy of this book handy just in case you need to look something up really fast. In here you will find the code you need to do things like add graphics, sounds, video, background images and color to your pages. All you need to do is copy the code from the book and change it to meet your needs. Before you know it your pages will have all the really cool things you always wanted to have on your site.

There is also a section in the book that will tell you all the things you need to have a successful Web site. There are some things every site should always have and this section will tell you the proper way to implement these things as well as all the other things you will want to add. The next section goes over some of the software tools you may want to work with.

There is also a chapter each to help you create Web pages using Microsoft FrontPage 2000, Microsoft FrontPage Express, Netscape Composer 4.5, and Microsoft Office 2000. The programs are different and so are the things you can do with them. If you want to use one of these programs then you will want to be sure to read over these sections thoroughly to make sure you are doing it correctly.

Between the way this book is organized and the useful icons included you will find this book extremely easy to use and very useful. This is a book every beginner to intermediate Web designer should have sitting on their desk whenever they're working on their site.
