Starting out with the very basics you will first learn to navigate around in the program. This means doing things like zooming, magnifying, previewing, and scrolling. You will also learn to customize things by changing preferences, changing cursors so you can do different things, making things transparent, adjusting point and pica size, and creating scripts and shortcuts.
If you don't know what digital imagery is you will by the time you finish the second part of the book. In this section you will learn things like how images work, how to work with images, changing and managing colors, and all you'll ever need to know about printing images. Moving on to the next section you will find out how you can go about painting your images and retouching them later.
Layering images and adding text are some of the things you will learn next. Later you will find out how to map colors including hue shifting, colorizing, correcting, inverting, blending, and more. You will also learn to take a photograph and change it any way you want to.
You can't believe how much information is in this book and how easily you will be able to learn it all. If that isn't enough it also comes with a CD that includes a gallery of wonderful and thrilling artwork done using Photoshop. Also on the CD are a number of Photoshop plug-ins that you can use for both Windows and Mac.
This is a fantastic book for anyone who wants to do anything with graphics of any kind. There are a lot of pictures in the book to give you examples of all the things you can do and step by step directions to do all of the things described. You will have hours of fun creating and changing pictures after going through this book.
