If you want to learn JavaScript from start to finish then this is one of the books you will want to read. You must first understand HTML or a programming language to use this book because it does not go backwards to teach it to you only forward so you can get right into learning JavaScript.

This book is for the Web designer who wants to add some flair to their already great Web site. Early on in the book you will learn to make pop up windows and windows inside windows and make them say whatever you want them too. You can even create new windows without URLs on the tops of them and in any size you want.

A detailed chapter on multimedia and plugins is provided for you and goes right into explaining how to control the objects so they will do what you want when you want them to. There is also a chapter on forms and CGI which will show you how to do such things as perform calculations and validate information entered into the form. They you will learn about security and cookies and how to implement them into your Web page also.

Later in the book it goes over Java from JavaScript, drag and drop, DHTML, and even error messages. This book is packed with all kinds of great information on how to create JavaScript and add it to your HTML document. After reading it you will be well on your way to having one of the best Web pages on the Net.
