The Bottom Line

Twitter is a blog site that lets you blog about everything and anything, as long as you do it in under 140 characters. Blogging in short phrases about every little thing you're doing is what Twitter is all about. Twitter is more personal, in many ways, than longer blogs. You learn more about people when they feel free to post anything, and they do on Twitter.

Guide Review - Twitter Instead of Blogging

Twitter takes a little getting used to, and some friends. Make sure to find people you know or people you're interested in to follow on Twitter or you may get bored and quit too soon. Once you get in the swing of things and get going, you just may learn to love it. If you don't have friends on Twitter, ask some of your friends to join with you.

Make sure to post and read. Post about everything you can. Whether you're eating, working, or whatever, let your Twitter friends know about it. Soon you'll be reading and responding to your friend's twits and they'll be responding to yours.

When I first joined Twitter, I didn't get it. I even quit for awhile. Then a friend turned me back onto it by her enthusiasm. So I tried it again. This time I made more of an effort to join in. Posting about everything I could. Adding Twitter to my Firefox browser I was able to post more often because it was right there in front of me all the time.

Then I added Google Talk to my computer. Now I can follow friends and post without even opening my browser. Simple. Now that I've learned to reply to posts it adds and even deeper understanding of what it means to be a Twit.
