Welcome to Part II of my look back at 1997 in the world of personal homepages (Part I sets the scene, so take a look if you haven't already). This week's article contains my selections for the best homepages in the primary categories of individual personal expression on the Web. Note that I required that a page still be in existence as of this writing in order to be considered. Where possible, I take note of dearly departed sites that would otherwise have been among the finalists.
So, without further ado, here are my favorite sites of 1997:
