(About.com) INDIVIDUAL'S SITE PROFILE

Name Of Site: My Piece Of Heaven
URL: http://www.fortunecity.com/millennium/potter/1100

About your site:  part 2
profile page  1 2 3

If you had to do it over again from the beginning, what would you change?
I wish I had written up articles for all of the topics that I want to talk about (there are just to many). I also would have looked for a lot more links to excellent sits to encourage my viewers to obtain further information on these subjects.

What are your favorite things on your site?
My writing about Mental Illness and Chronic Pain. I would like to go deeper into the other topics, however, I have to be stable when writing the other topics.

When looking at other people's Web sites what do you look for as a viewer?
Easy navigation is a must. I do not enjoy sites that take a long time to load as I do not have the patience.

I prefer a site that has clean, crisp lines and is well presented both in content and graphics for the viewer.

What is "one word" that would describe your site?
HONEST

Because of your site do you consider yourself a Web celebrity, an exhibitionist, a public figure, a writer, an innovator, or something different?
I've never really thought about it. I've always been a person to tell it like it is and felt that by doing this website I would attract people with simalar interests. If pushed, I guess I would have to say a writer.

How do you tackle the mechanics of Web design and how do you deal with your frustrations when you can't do what you envision.
Mmmmm. Very tricky question. Things aren't always as they appear. I will read and re-read articles/tutorials to ensure I'm doing something correctly only to have it fail. I prefer to try things on my own (I've actually discovered a lot) before I ask for help. When things aren't going well, the air in this room can go blue as I let out a big growl. {blush}

Why do you think people are interested in you and what you have to say?
I feel that the general internet population consists of people looking for information. I feel that I am providing a "patient's view" of these illness' and it some how brings it home to the viewer.

What compels you to design beautiful pages and to write from the heart (beyond just the usual question of "why write a Web site")?What started out as an interest has completely overtaken my thirst for knowledge. The stronger I become with design and preparing beautiful sites (both in content and graphics) the more my confidence grows. I've never considered myself a "creative person" however, I've had many complements on what I have built. As to why - I follow my heart!
