Name Of Site: Baby Borg's Home Page
URL: http://babyborg.homestead.com/
Why did you start writing your Web site?
Well, I'd been online for three years and I was starting to think that maybe I could come up with a pretty decent website of my own. I didn't really know what it would be about (I always considered myself to be a rather plain sort of person), but once I started working on it, it took on a life of its own. I guess I just took my nickname, Baby Borg, and ran with it. *lol*
What is your site about?
Hmmm...well, the links page is divided into Random, Nintendo, Star Trek, and Music, so it pretty much covers everything. However, I think the best (and most focused) part is going to be the Rants section, where I discuss things that fascinate, annoy, or concern me.
Why do you write a site about your interest or hobby?
I'd been seeing a lot of personal sites dedicated to the authors' interests, and I thought, "With my odd assortment of random interests, I could do a very interesting website." Besides, I'd been online for three years. I figured it was time to establish a permanent presence. :-)
Do you communicate with readers of your site?
Most of my readers are my friends and family, so I communicate with them quite regularly.
How much email feedback to you receive from your site? Is it mainly positive or negative?
I don't receive much e-mail feedback, but I do discuss my site with my friends and family. They've been very positive so far.
Have you met any new friends because of the site?
No, not yet, but maybe I will after I get it listed on a few search engines. :-)
Has your motivation changed over time?
Yes, definitely. I started it because I needed something to do in my spare time and because I wanted to showcase my random interests. Now I'm using it as a forum to display my creativity and express my thoughts and feelings concerning some unusual things I've experienced.
How has it changed your life?
I think having my website has made me more willing to share the secret parts of myself with other people. I've learned that if I can open myself up to millions of Internet users I've never even met, then I can definitely share my joys and fears with people I know intimately.
Do your friends and family know you keep this site/read it? If so have you had any really negative experiences as a result? If not why?
Yes, they were the first to know about my site, and they are my most frequent visitors. They love it.
How has your Web site benefited you? Your friends? Or total strangers?
You know the phrase, "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there"? My site has allowed my friends and family to visit the little world inside my head without having to live there. *lol*
