(About.com)FIRST ADVENTURES IN CYBERSPACE

Name Of Site: A Time To Believe
Story By: Emma

Someone asked me recently - why web pages? What possessed me to make my own web pages? I have one simple answer - it makes me feel good and makes me happy to know that I touch people out there, even people I don't know in a positive way. AND, it's so much fun! It's like being a carpenter. I gather all my tools and materials and start to build. And when I got myself started, I could not stop, nor do I want to stop.

It started some three years ago when I was going through some bumps and curves in life. Not that my life is smooth sailing now, it's just that I found a way to lighten my load - through my web pages. I created my very first web page as a way of reaching out to the world. It was so simple. I called it Reflections of Life . This is a revised issue. When I first started, I didn't know anything about HTML, JPEGs or GIFs. I used one of those ready made templates. Then, I discovered that I can put a lot of goodies on it, like music, counters, even a guestbook. So, there I was, surfing, reading, researching, printing and reading, copying and pasting and having so much fun. I wanted to learn more and do more.

On one of my surfing expeditions, I discovered personalweb.about.com.. This web site has been a big help to me. I look forward to receiving my weekly newsletter and discovering new stuff they have to offer.

Now I have at least 20 web pages. What are they about? They are about everything that I think is important in life - family, friends, love, hope and anything that money can't buy. Sometimes, we get extremely busy that we forget what brings us real joy - the simple pleasures of life. I read a passage that goes this way "Be alive this day, as though it were not first or last, just best."

If you want to tell your story and have it posted here email it to me.
