Introduction and Sign Up

About offered Web site hosting from early 2000 until the end of 2001. Halfway through they teamed up with a company that has a fabulous tool. The company is called Trellix, and the tool is very easy to use and makes designing a Web site easy and lots of fun.

Trellix still offers Web site hosting through many other sites. Each hosting site that uses Trellix as their base offers different packages. You will get a varying amount of Web space to host your site, along with many themed templates so you can create the site that is right for you. No need to use HTML with this tool, but if you want to you can using the "Account Management and Advanced Tools".

If you want to create a Web site using this tool, but are not sure you want to try something new right now or think that it may be difficult, let me alleviate your fears. Here I am going to walk you through the process of creating a site using it and show you how easy it really is. After you create your page, post a link to it on my forum.

Step 1 - Sign Up

The first thing you must do if you want to create a Web site using Trellix is to find the hosting service that best meets your needs. A couple such sites are Earthlink, Lycos and Bravenet. Once you have decided which is best for you, sign up. Just fill out the form they provide and then you can start creating your site.

Tip: Use the free email address, that the service provides, for better security. This way you don't have to give out your real email address.

Now you will be brought to a place where you can create your new Web site. Choose from one of the categories for a site theme or click where it says "More templates for new web sites..." for more options. Choose an appropriate template for your site. After you do this, you will be brought to your blank site.
