For your site to be considered a personal Web site it must contain personal content. Some of you may be thinking "Well, that's obvious?" but others of you are wondering "What is personal content, what does that mean?" By personal content I mean that the page must exhibit content that tells your readers about your thoughts, ideas, interests, hobbies, family, friends, feelings, or something you feel strongly about. I think that just about covers it.

Personal does not mean a business even if it's self-owned or home-based. It does not mean advertising of any kind. It does mean diaries, self-written books and poems, family, pets, or a page about your favorite topic such as a TV show, a sport, or a hobby. Or it could be a page written to help others with topics like health or how to's on just about anything. Here are some great examples of the different types of personal Web pages:

Buchanan Family Web Site - This is the typical family page. What this type of page shows is this person's family complete with pictures and a brief description of each member. Occasionally each member will also have their own page like this one does.

Nobody Knows Anything - Online Diary Web Site - Diaries are probably the most personal form of Web page. They not only tell about the person but also about the person's innermost secrets. In a Web diary you can find information on the everyday life of the person writing the site and soon will feel as though you know the person personally.

Gav and Peloso's Interactive Story Web Site - Do you like to read books? Now you can read them as they are written and in some cases help write the storyline yourself.

Stooge's Nascar Web Page - A lot of people like sports, right? They also like to write about sports and you can find fan sites online. Some of these sites will even list the game scores and statistics for their favorite team.

Or someone may want to show off their favorite television show. If they are a big fan and think others might be interested in the same thing they can use this to make friends with others with similar interests as their own.

These are not the only types of personal Web pages. There are many different kinds but this will give you a general idea. If you have a personal Web page that you would like listed on this site or you know of one that you would like listed you can send it to me and I will put it in the appropriate place.
