Definition: When you are on a Web page and you see the blue, often underlined text, that makes the cursor from your mouse change shape, that is a link. If you click on a link it will take you to another page or another site. You find information on the Internet by clicking through to links you are interested in.

There are three main types of links that you may be interested in using when designing your Web page: links that take you to another place on the same page (as in an index), links that take you to another site and links that go to another page on your site. The codes for all three are done differently.

Examples:
Placing a link on your site to another site will allow your readers to click through to that other site.
