Virtual Goods Selling for Real Money

From Linda Roeder, About.com Guide   November 4, 2009

Virtual items, items you can only play with online and not in the real world, are becoming big business. Recently there was even a conference held to discuss virtual sales called the The Virtual Goods Summit 2009. People came from all over the world to find out how they can make money selling virtual goods to people.

Virtual items are sold in a number of gaming sites around the Web, including Second Life. Now they're being sold on social networking sites like Facebook too. People are making a living just selling things online that don't really exist.

We used to use virtual money to buy virtual things and real money to buy real things. Now we use real money to buy virtual things. Maybe someday we'll use virtual money to buy real things. I don't really see that happening. But then again, who knows.

Do you buy virtual items? How much money do you spend on virtual items?

This indeed provides a great potential. Although we all are aware of different types of Virtual Good available but very few know the generic category they lie it.
