Get Your Status Updates Back on Facebook

Sunday November 1, 2009

Are you mad at what Facebook did? Do you want your Status Updates back? Here's how! This simple little trick will have your Facebook back just the way you like it.

I don't know about you, but I'm very disappointed in the new way the Facebook homepage is being laid out. I can't get all my status updates in one place. I have to click on News Feed and then Live Feed. I still feel like I'm missing something. My friends aren't too happy either.

I don't know what made Facebook think that it would be better to separate out everything this way. Or include everything together, like in the Live Feed, but they did. Personally, I liked it just the way it was.

To their credit, and our benefit, they did include a way for us to get out status updates just the way they used to be. They added a little link on the Facebook homepage to help you get your status updates. I'm going to show you how to use it.

What do you think about the new Facebook?

I use facebook only irregularly and always find it confusing. I knew something had changed recently but wasn’t sure exactly how. What’s the difference between News Feed, Live Feed, and Status Updates? I’m just not grasping it.

I do not like the changes that they keep making. I am a big fan of improvement, but NOT an fan of change just to change. I wish that they would get it right and leave it alone. Here’s a novel idea, ASK the users what they would most like to see and use.

Changing our homepage to “Status Updates” isn’t exactly like before either. Before, the home page would show all status updates AND photos added by friends. I want to see both, live, as they’re updated.
I just don’t want to see who friended who and who joined what group. I wish we could really customize the specific things we want to see in our feeds.
