Google is a great place to start online and having your profile posting there is the best way to get yourself noticed. Create your Google profile and let people know who you are, where you've worked, gone to school, and where your websites are.

"You need a good photo. You need a bio that includes key words (like teacher and blogger, in my case). You need links - to things like your personal blog your Twitter page, and you Facebook profile." ~Greg Cruey, Web 2.0 Weblog. I think this is a great start, but there's so much more to creating a great Google profile than just photos and links.

Use the Google profile as a gateway page on the Internet if you want. Kind of like your own online business card. Link to all your other Websites from there and tell all about yourself. That way when you want to tell people how to find you online, you'll only have to give them one link.

Another think you can do with a Google profile is use it as a beginning page for an online resume. This would be a place where you could send a potential employer as a starting point as they begin their search to find out more about who you are and what you do. If you're an online writer, musician, artist of something like that, you can link to your work online using your Google profile.

What do you use your Google profile for?
