If you would like to have more control of your own web site, with many more features, you can move away from websites “served on a platter”, like those provided by Google, Yahoo, myspace, and others.
There are many web editing tools and templates out there for you to play with. Be creative.
You can even host your web site from your own desktop PC, through your Internet Service Provider, though some providers do prevent, or block web/HTTP traffic; and you may need to manage a dynamic IP address.
If that is too much, your web site can be uploaded to a ‘hosting service’, and many web ‘hosting’ services offer limited feature packages, e.g. for beginners, for free.
