Pownce is shutting down

Tuesday December 2, 2008
I just received an email from Pownce telling me that they are shutting down. As of December 15th Pownce will no longer exist. They've already stopped accepting new account sign ups. Apparently they've been bought by another blogging company. Six Apart, the makers of Movable Type, TypePad and Vox, has bought Pownce. I'm sure they have some plans for it, but they're not saying just yet.

Just in case you are a Pownce member, and want to save all the information you've entered into Pownce, there's a tool you can use. Pownce has come up with an export tool that you can use to save all your information and blogs to your computer, but it has to be done before the closing date of December 15, 2008, or you'll lose everything.

Just log into your Pownce account as you would normally do, then go to your Pownce settings and click on the "Export" link. From there you can download all your content.

Please visit our new home to find out more.
