What Do You Think of Facebook Chat?

Facebook has a nifty little chat tool that you can use to keep in touch with your Facebook friends. It's called Facebook chat and it's an IM program that you can use right from Facebook. IM is nothing new. I've been using one IM tool or another since 1996. But when it's integrated with your Facebook profile, that makes is even more useful and fun to play with.

When I first started on the Internet I used an IM tool called PowWow. I don’t think it’s around anymore. What a great site though, it was almost like social networking before there was online social networking and before the term Instant Messaging was even invented.
Then for years I used ICQ. Still popular among the 30+ crowd. I like ICQ because it offers a lot of features, more than other IM tools.
Facebook Chat is pretty cool though. Mostly because I can send IM’s to any of my Facebook friends anytime I want without even having to go to their profile first.
Never got into the face book thing. I mostly use the PC at work. I surf a little after hours before going home. I do like http://batchchat.blogspot.com though. It’s pretty neat because it does not need to be installed.
Is there a way to print your chat history?
Can you help me please – for months now I havent been able to use Fb chat – it has an exclamation mark in an organge box. I can see whos on – I can try to send a message but it never goes through and an error message comes up not available at this time. I have searched so many sights and asked techies how to fix this but no one seems to know. Any advice please.

Sorry Deb, It’s strange that it doesn’t work for you. I’d say to email Facebook support and ask them.
I’m blind, and use a screen reader to use Facebook, so I just wish the sound would play at all. Half the time I never hear anything when a chat opens, other times the pop comes out as just a wimpy distorted click I only notice if I’m listening for it. If I’m doing something, and especially if I’m listening to music, I never hear it. I only notice the window is there when I find it looking for something else. Explorer also sometimes crashes when a chat comes up. If I’m in another window with Firefox I don’t even notice that right away. Too bad Facebook doesn’t let you pick a different sound like you can with other Windows apps.

My online friends icon is not displaying,it is saying that i can not connect to chatt this time,what do i do to ensure that the online friends icons is displaying.
my computer has recently been re-installed and my facebook is not the same, the chat box is filling the whole page.
