I'm one of them. I have three boys who play around on the Internet. One is a teen and just happens to have a MySpace profile.
I trust him because we've had the talk. You know, the one about how strangers roam the Internet looking for young naive kids like him and how he needs to be careful and even a bit proactive in his own safety. That's the one.
Anyway, when he created his MySpace profile I was amazed at how mature he was about setting it up. He took every precaution to make sure that only his real friends could become MySpace friends. MySpace is, for him, a safe place where he can keep in touch with his friends and share photos and videos.
